Plot summary
Teenage Hollywood actress Morgan Carter collapses outside a Hollywood nightclub, and her mother sends her to Fort Wayne, Indiana, to live with her Aunt Trudy while she recovers. With a new hairstyle, no money and the name Claudia Miller, she enters a suburban high school carrying a bad attitude, and at first she fits in with nobody. She meets Eli, who brings her into the circle of his sister Emily and Emily's friends. Morgan grows close to Emily, and Emily invites her to a sleepover. There Debbie, who has her eye on Eli, warns her to keep her distance from him. Upset, Morgan leaves early without saying goodbye to Emily.
