Plot summary
Unicron, a planet-eating Transformer, sends his herald Scourge to seize the Transwarp Key, which opens portals through time and space, and the Maximals flee their homeworld with it to Earth. In 1994 Brooklyn, ex-military electronics expert Noah Diaz cannot find work that covers his younger brother Kris's medical care, so his friend Reek talks him into stealing a Porsche, which turns out to be the Autobot Mirage. At the museum where she works, intern Elena Wallace breaks open an ancient statue and finds the key inside, and the energy pulse it releases reaches Optimus Prime. The Autobots need the key to return to Cybertron, and the Terrorcons come to Earth to take it.
