Plot summary
Aboard an airship laboratory, Estelle tells the man she has brought back that his name is Henry, that she is his wife, and that an accident took his memory and his voice. She fits him with prostheses for the limbs he lost, but Akan, a psychokinetic warlord, sends his mercenaries to raid the ship before she can restore his voice, and claims her research as his property. The pair escape in a pod and come down in Moscow, where the mercenaries follow and take Estelle. A stranger called Jimmy pulls Henry clear of trouble and warns him that the prostheses are losing power and will kill him if he does not recharge them.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Hardcore Henry (2015)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Henry was first played by Russian stuntman Sergey Valyaev, but the head-mounted camera rig gave him severe neck pain; his replacement, Andrei Dementiev, also got neck pain and lost a tooth when a stuntman accidentally struck him.
- The first-person footage was shot with GoPro cameras on a custom rig nicknamed the 'Adventure Mask'; director Ilya Naishuller chose a magnet-based stabilization system over an electronic one because it moved more like a real human head.
- The whole feature grew out of two GoPro music videos, 'Bad Motherfucker' and 'The Stampede', that Naishuller made with Valyaev for his band Biting Elbows, and the resulting film was partly financed through the crowdfunding site Indiegogo.
- After two weeks, theaters dropped Hardcore Henry from 2,496 screens, the second-largest third-weekend theater cut of all time, behind only 2008's Meet Dave.
