Plot summary
Six years after Jack Deth and his wife Lena settled in Los Angeles, Hap Ashby's investments have made him rich, and Jack and Lena share his estate. Then Edward, the brother of Martin Whistler, travels back from the future under the alias E.D. Wardo and founds GreenWorld, an environmental organization that in truth kidnaps homeless people and mental patients to turn them into Trancers. Hap is a target because he is the ancestor of a future council member. Jack prepares to fight the Trancer operation, while Lena's unease grows: the City Council has pulled Jack's first wife Alice from death in the future and sent her back to 1991 to help him. Hap, meanwhile, returns to drinking to cope with the pressure.

- A follow-up short film, Trancers: City of Lost Angels, was shot in 1987 for an anthology called Pulse Pounders, which went unreleased after its distributor, Empire International Pictures, shut down in 1988 under debt.
- Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo were initially set to write Trancers II with Bilson directing, but they dropped out because of other obligations, and Charles Band returned to direct, as he had on the original film.
