Plot summary
Jennifer Peters is after a killer who leaves riddles behind at each crime scene, and who took her brother Roy. The same man calls Kevin Parson, a student, and gives him a choice: admit to a sin, or the car he is sitting in will blow apart. Kevin gets clear, then tells the police about the call while keeping the sin to himself. Jennifer is one of the officers who hears him out. A new message from the man who calls himself R.K. points at the dog Kevin had as a boy, and at his Aunt Balinda's house. Kevin and Samantha Sheer, a friend he has known since childhood, begin working through the riddles to find out who is behind them.
