Plot summary
Boaz works the mill, turning grain and dreaming of a place with a traveling royal caravan, where he might be important. An older donkey helps him get free of the miller, but a hurt ankle leaves him at the home where Mary and Joseph have settled after their wedding. Mary nurses him and names him Bo. She then tells Joseph she is pregnant, and Joseph, after a vision of his own, accepts it. Bo and his friend Dave, a dove, keep plotting to slip away, yet three more months pass. Meanwhile the three wise men carry gold, frankincense and myrrh to King Herod and speak of a new King. Herod sends them on their way and secretly orders his hunter, with the dogs Thaddeus and Rufus, to find the child.
