Plot summary
Married to a Millionaire is a live reality show in Seattle, and its host, Adam Rogers, is hailed as a hero after the broadcast ends in gunfire. On the station's morning show the next day he says he is no hero and blames the network and its audience. Ilana Katzenberg, the network's president of programming, summons him and offers him a series in which contestants end their lives on air. He refuses, then accepts on one condition: that the platform urges viewers to value life. Sylvia Rowland, his producer, wants no part of it but is under contract. Mason Washington works as a janitor in the studio offices and asks for more hours so he can qualify for medical benefits, then loses his job. His wife Rebecca warns that losing their home would mean losing her and the children.
