Plot summary
Actress Angela Merrova is found dead of multiple stab wounds in her hotel room by the reporter Walter Garrett, who had come to interview her. He brings the police back, and the room is empty and the body gone. Garrett writes the story, and the paper fires him when Merrova appears at the office alive and well to complain. Other victims have died the same way, drained of a rare blood type. To get his job back, Garrett consults with his friend Dr. Mike Rhodes, and that leads the two of them to Rhodes's former mentor, the hematologist Dr. Francis Flegg.
