Plot summary

Four years after the disaster at Jurassic Park, InGen has bred its dinosaurs at a second site, Isla Sorna, which was abandoned during a hurricane and left to the animals. John Hammond, who has lost control of InGen to his nephew Peter Ludlow, asks chaos theorist Ian Malcolm to join a team that will document the creatures and argue against interference. Malcolm declines, but the paleontologist Sarah Harding, his girlfriend, is already on the island, so he sets out to bring her back, traveling with the equipment specialist Eddie Carr and the videographer Nick Van Owen. Ludlow, meanwhile, sends a mercenary expedition under the big-game hunter Roland Tembo to capture dinosaurs for a park in San Diego. Malcolm's daughter Kelly stows away with the rescue party.
