Vanessa Lee Chester is an American actress who began as a child performer in the 1990s. Born in Brooklyn, she moved to Los Angeles with her mother as a young child and started out in commercials before winning a part in the 1993 comedy CB4, which starred Chris Rock. A minor part in Alfonso Cuarón's A Little Princess (1995) followed, and in 1996 she played Janie in Nickelodeon's Harriet the Spy, a film that earned her a Young Artist Award for best supporting young actress.
