Plot summary
Ravenna, a queen, learns from her Magic Mirror that her younger sister Freya is expecting a child with her lover Andrew. Andrew then kills their newborn daughter, and in her grief and rage Freya's own powers of ice and cold come out. She kills Andrew and goes north to the mountains, where she becomes the Snow Queen and rules through fear. She takes children and brings them up as an army of Huntsmen, forbidding them ever to fall in love. Eric, an exceptional warrior, and Sara, a fellow warrior, break that law: the two fall in love and plan to escape together.
