Plot summary

Holmes has just returned a stolen artifact to three French nuns when Dr. Mortimer arrives with a case: Sir Henry Baskerville and a legendary hound said to haunt the family estate. Worn out from so many cases, Holmes hands the work to Dr. Watson, an eccentric Welshman. On the road from the station, a policeman halts Sir Henry, Mortimer, Watson and their driver Perkins to warn them of a murderer loose on the moors. Out collecting specimens, Watson meets the raving Mr. Frankland and Mary, Frankland's very strong lover. In London, Holmes visits his mother Ada, a bogus spiritualist who cheats older ladies with false seances, and hires the one-legged Mr. Spiggot as a runner.
