Plot summary
Lee Hayden made his name in Westerns, and the work has thinned to voice jobs for commercials. His agent brings him two pieces of news: a group wants to honor him with a lifetime achievement award, and no new offers are coming. A doctor then tells Lee he has pancreatic cancer. Lee keeps the diagnosis to himself while he smokes marijuana with Jeremy, a former co-star who now sells it, reaches out to his ex-wife Valarie, and tries to reconnect with his estranged daughter Lucy. He also meets Charlotte, a stand-up comedienne he first saw in passing at Jeremy's place, and invites her to the ceremony.
