Frank Collison

Biography

Frank Collison is an American actor who was born in Evanston, Illinois and started acting as a child. He trained at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, earned a bachelor's degree in theater at San Francisco State University, and later an MFA in acting from the University of California, San Diego. He has appeared in more than 150 productions, worked off Broadway and in regional theaters, and helped found the Pacific Resident Theatre in Venice, California. On screen, his films include The Last Boy Scout (1991), Diggstown (1992), O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), Hope Springs (2003), The Village (2004), Hidalgo (2004), The Happening (2008), Hesher (2010), and L.A. Slasher (2015). He is known to television audiences as Horace Bing on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and voices Grandpa Goodman and Mr. Bojenkins on Mr. Pickles.

Early training
Collison studied at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and got a BA in theater from San Francisco State University. He later earned an MFA in acting from the University of California, San Diego.
Behind the camera
In Venice, California, Collison helped found the Pacific Resident Theatre. That company has received more than 25 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards.
