Plot summary
Julia Brizendine, a university neurologist who compares the female and male brain, is divorced and lives with her parents, and she is convinced she can outsmart her emotions, which exasperates her assistant Abby. She scans the brains of test subjects, and a man named Kevin Avery flirts with her before he steps into the scanner, leaving her flustered. Three couples show the science at work. Lisa Hampton, a realtor married to Steven for twelve years, tries to liven up a relationship she fears has gone dull. Lexi Mercer nags her boyfriend of two or three years, Adam Simmons, to change how he looks. Zoe Green-Basker, a sales manager who resents gender stereotyping, is married to Greg, a pro basketball athlete home from an injury.
