Plot summary
The lead, Vardell Duseldorfer, was assembled from the recognizable features of several real action heroes, and the picture parodies The Expendables and other films of the same kind. He is an aged and retired action star, a drug addict and an alcoholic whose fame is behind him and whose name is publicly disgraced. Duseldorfer intends to win his fame back by directing and starring in a science fiction picture of his own, Hard Times on Mars. He is hired to direct and star in a picture shot in Uzbekistan. The film presents itself as an answer to a question about working with action stars such as Sylvester Stallone and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
