Plot summary
Former FinCEN director Raymond King meets the assassin Anaïs and asks her to help him find a Salvadorean family, showing her a dated photo of two parents and their young son. Anaïs warns that King is being followed; a gunfight follows and King is killed. Marybeth Medina, his protégé and FinCEN's deputy director, identifies the body and reads a message on his arm: find the accountant. Though she distrusts Christian Wolff's illegal methods, she asks for his help in finding the family. Wolff assembles a collage of records showing the family fled El Salvador for Los Angeles. He then invites his estranged brother Braxton, still working as an assassin, to join the search. At a New Hampshire compound, Justine and a group of autistic children hack into systems to assist.
