Plot summary
Lex Walker is a British military contractor. News reaches him that his daughter, Samantha, has died in Los Angeles, and he travels there to identify the body. The dead woman is not Samantha. He telephones her former employer, Most Industries, and its chief executive, Karl Schuster, tells him he knows nothing about her disappearance. Lex forces his way past the company's guards and is arrested. In a holding cell, Detective Klein releases him. At a bar that Samantha used to visit, Lex offers the bartender ten thousand dollars for information, a fight follows, and a woman named Margo comes forward with the name of a nightclub where Samantha spent time.
