Plot summary

The Spice Girls fill their days with rehearsals, performances and public appearances, all arranged by their manager Clifford, as they prepare for a show at the Royal Albert Hall. They keep asking him for time off to visit their pregnant friend Nicola, but he refuses because his employer, known as the Chief, wants the group working. Newspaper owner Kevin McMaxford, tired of the band dominating his headlines, sets out to damage their reputation and sends an investigator, Damien, after them. A filmmaker, Piers Cuthbertson-Smyth, follows the group in the hope of making a documentary about them, and two Hollywood writers, Martin and Graydon, keep pitching screenplay ideas to Clifford.
