Plot summary
Top Cat and his friends spend the day in Hoagie's Alley costumed as Boy Scouts, doing good deeds for rewards. Benny the Ball saves a bag lady, Gertrude Vandergelt, a rich woman who intends her missing niece Amy to have her estate. Officer Dibble comes to stop the boys' scheme, then learns his retirement has been approved and lets them go. Days later, the lawyer Sid Buckman tells Benny that Mrs. Vandergelt has died and named him in her will. At the Vandergelt house, where Dibble works as a guard, the gang meets the butler Snerdly and his wolfhound Rasputin, and Buckman reads the will. Benny inherits if nothing happens to him for two days, and Snerdly, who hoped for the money himself, starts plotting.
