Plot summary
Raised within the League of Assassins, Damian Wayne is the grandson of Ra's al Ghul and the son of Talia and Batman, a father he has never met. Ra's grooms the boy to succeed him, until Slade Wilson, the successor Ra's had picked before Damian's birth, leads an ambush at the League's headquarters. Ra's is gravely wounded, and Talia takes her son to Gotham City and leaves him in Batman's care while she and the League pursue Slade. The boy is aggressive and independent, disobeying his father's orders and setting out to avenge Ra's on his own. After Damian brutally attacks an associate of Slade's named Ubu, Nightwing intervenes and Batman berates him for his recklessness. Batman gives his son the Robin mantle to teach him discipline.
