Valerie Perrine
Biography
Valerie Perrine was an American actress who began her career as a showgirl in Las Vegas before moving to Los Angeles, where she was cast as Montana Wildhack in Slaughterhouse-Five (1972). She was best known for playing Honey Bruce in Bob Fosse's Lenny (1974), a performance that brought her the BAFTA Award for Most Promising Newcomer, the Best Actress prize at Cannes and an Academy Award nomination, along with a Golden Globe nomination. She played Lex Luthor's accomplice Eve Teschmacher in Superman (1978) and returned for Superman II (1980), and she appeared opposite Robert Redford in The Electric Horseman (1979). Later credits included The Border (1982), the Razzie-nominated Can't Stop the Music (1980) and a small role in What Women Want (2000). She died in 2026.

Perrine did not pursue acting. At a small dinner party, an agent seeking someone for Montana Wildhack in George Roy Hill's film of Slaughterhouse-Five saw something in her and thought she would be perfect for the part.
A change of course
Perrine's job in 1968 was as a showgirl in the show "Lido de Paris," which was staged at the Stardust Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
