Biography

Sarah Douglas is an English actress who trained with the National Youth Theatre and Rose Bruford College before moving into screen work. Born in Stratford-upon-Avon, she began with small parts in The Final Programme (1973) and Rollerball, then became familiar to British television audiences through shows including Space: 1999 and Return of the Saint. After an extensive casting process, she secured the role of Ursa, a supporting antagonist in Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980), and her performance drew critical acclaim and became a signature part. She went on to play Queen Taramis in Conan the Destroyer (1984) and Pamela Lynch on Falcon Crest for two seasons. Later film credits include The Return of Swamp Thing (1989), Return of the Living Dead III (1993), Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut (2006), and A Christmas Prince (2017), where she played Mrs. Averill and returned for its two sequels. She was also cast as Jindah Kol Rozz in Supergirl (2018).
