Biography

Rik Battaglia was an Italian film actor who appeared in historical and peplum movies, adventure tales, Karl May westerns, and Spaghetti Westerns. A native of Corbola, he appeared in The Mighty Crusaders, Hannibal, and Raw Wind in Eden. His credits included biblical and adventure pictures like Esther and the King (1960), Sodom and Gomorrah (1962), and Sandokan the Great, plus the horror feature Nightmare Castle (1965). He became a regular in Karl May productions, Spaghetti Westerns, and adventure films, with parts in Old Shatterhand (1964), The Call of the Wild (1972), Treasure Island (1972), playing Captain Smollett, Ten Little Indians (1974), and A Genius, Two Partners and a Dupe (1975). Other titles were Deported Women of the SS Special Section, Sister Emanuelle, I Am the Law, and Don Bosco (1988). His last feature was Buck ai confini del cielo (1991), and he retired from films in 1999.
