Biography

Richard Blackburn is a writer and director whose widest recognition came as co-screenwriter of Paul Bartel's black comedy Eating Raoul (1982), for which he also worked as associate producer and played a small part. He wrote and directed Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural (1973), an atmospheric period horror film, and appeared in it as a strict reverend. For the horror anthology series Tales from the Darkside he wrote and directed the episode Miss May Dusa. Away from film and television, he compiled albums for Rhino Records, wrote articles for L.A. Weekly and The Village Voice, and helped edit Too Cool as an associate editor. He was born on March 27, 1943.
