Plot summary
Patsy is six, and she and her aunt Trish earn what they need by lifting wallets from shoppers who can afford the loss; Trish mails the wallets back afterward with the identification still inside. Their luck runs out at Limber's department store, where Patsy, in a blond wig, goes after the owner's pocket and the security guard Bert stops her. In the office the two are told they will be arrested, but Christmas is nearly here and Social Services has closed for the holiday, so Bert is ordered to keep them at his apartment. On December 26 Trish is to answer charges and Patsy is to go to a foster family.
