Ralph Forbes
Biography
Ralph Forbes was an English actor of the stage and screen whose career was divided between Britain and the United States. Born in Wandsworth, London, the son of the stage and film actress Mary Forbes, he came to America with a British troupe that put on Havoc, a war play. Films came first for him, and his screen career ran from 1926 to 1944. After that he turned to the theater, and his later years were given largely to Broadway. One of his last stage appearances was a role in a 1948 revival of George Bernard Shaw's You Never Can Tell. Forbes died in 1951, at the age of 46.
