Biography

Mackenzie Astin is an American actor from Los Angeles who began performing as a child and made his screen debut at nine in the television movie Lois Gibbs and the Love Canal. He is often remembered for playing Andy Moffett, a role he took from 1985 to 1988 across four seasons of the sitcom The Facts of Life. His later television work includes recurring parts on Homeland, Scandal and The Magicians, as well as guest appearances on Grey's Anatomy, House, Psych, LOST and NCIS. On film he has appeared in Iron Will (1994), The Evening Star (1996) and Whit Stillman's The Last Days of Disco (1998), and he starred in Hell and Mr. Fudge in 2012. He won a Young Artist Award in 1986 for The Facts of Life and shared a CAMIE Award in 2005 for Love's Enduring Promise (2004). In November 2020 he joined the Netflix psychological thriller You for its third season in a recurring part.
