Plot summary
His mother has been dead only a few months, and Sean is still grieving when his wealthy father, Justin, brings Vivian home as his new wife. She is a seductive blonde with a grown son from an earlier marriage, and Sean is unhappy about the match. He is also disturbed by the thought that his stepmother may mean to seduce him, and he cannot tell whether that is real or his adolescent imagination. Then Justin suffers a sudden heart attack and dies. Sean blames Vivian, but the death is put down to natural causes and no one listens to his suspicions. He decides to look into the death himself and brings in a private detective, Eddie Costello.
