John Harmon

John Harmon was an American character actor who worked as a bit player for more than six decades, appearing in close to 300 film and television roles across many genres. Born in Washington, D.C., he began with small, often uncredited parts and received his first major screen credit in I Was Framed (1942). His film work included Gallant Bess, The Monster of Piedras Blancas (1959), Live Fast, Die Young and The Street is my Beat, and he made his final screen appearance in The Naked Monster, released twenty years after his death in 1985. On television he was seen in Bonanza, The Twilight Zone, Star Trek, The Rifleman as the hotel clerk Eddie Halstead, Gunsmoke and Adventures of Superman, and played a police fingerprint and ballistics expert on Perry Mason.
