Plot summary
Karen Walker quits her cannery job for a place in the roller derby. The team she joins is made up of skaters who are hostile to one another. Karen clashes with the other skaters, most of all with Mickey, the star of the team. Karen proves to be a feisty competitor, but she will not skate as part of the team.

- Martin Scorsese, who had directed Boxcar Bertha for Roger Corman and AIP, was called in to supervise editing of Unholy Rollers after editing delays let Kansas City Bomber reach cinemas first. Scorsese said the delayed release commercially "destroyed" the film.
- Unholy Rollers was made to cash in on publicity from MGM's roller derby film Kansas City Bomber. Roger Corman produced it for AIP, one of his last collaborations there after founding his own studio, New World Pictures.
- Unholy Rollers was the first screenplay credit for Howard R. Cohen, who went on to have a long association with Corman.
