Joe Manganiello
Biography
Joe Manganiello is an American actor from the Pittsburgh area who studied acting at Carnegie Mellon University and graduated in 2000. He landed his first film job playing Peter Parker's high school nemesis, Flash Thompson, in Spider-Man (2002), directed by Sam Raimi, and his breakout came as the werewolf Alcide Herveaux on HBO's True Blood, a part he held across five seasons. Among his better known films are Magic Mike (2012), What to Expect When You're Expecting (2012), Sabotage (2014), Magic Mike XXL (2015), Pee-wee's Big Holiday (2016) and Rampage (2018), and he played Brad Morris on the comedy How I Met Your Mother. He published the book Evolution in 2013, made his directing debut with the documentary La Bare in 2014, and won an Emmy in 2017 for narrating a documentary about the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Manganiello narrated Pittsburgh is Home: The Story of the Penguins, a 2017 documentary about the first 50 years of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team, and earned an Emmy for that work.
