Henry Kulky
Biography
Henry Kulky was an American actor and professional wrestler who started out as a teenage boxer and trained wrestlers at a lyceum in his hometown of Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. Encouraged by Stanislaus Zbyszko, he wrestled professionally from 1939, competing across South America as Bomber Kulkavich. In the 1950s he moved into acting, getting his break through Mike Mazurki's agent, who found him a part in Call Northside 777. His tough build led to typecasting as soldiers, thugs, gangsters and bartenders, and he played Otto Schmidlap on The Life of Riley from 1953 to 1958. He also appeared in episodes of Adventures of Superman and The Lone Ranger, and from 1959 to 1962 had the recurring role of Chief Max Bronsky on Hennesey. His final role was Chief Curley Jones on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. He died in 1965.
