George Nader
Biography
George Nader was an American actor and writer who started on stage at the Pasadena Playhouse before moving into films in 1950. He became a leading man at Universal Studios, typically in action and adventure roles. His first starring part came in the low-budget 3-D science fiction film Robot Monster (1953). For Four Guns to the Border (1954), he was named Most Promising Newcomer at the Golden Globes. Early film work included a small role in The Desert Fox: The Story of Rommel (1951), and he later starred opposite Maureen O'Hara in Lady Godiva of Coventry (1955). On television he headlined The Man and the Challenge from 1959 to 1960. In the 1960s he played FBI agent Jerry Cotton in several West German films. Later appearances included The Million Eyes of Sumuru (1967) and Beyond Atlantis (1973). After retiring from acting, he wrote the science fiction novel Chrome (1978). He died in 2002.

First role
Nader's first starring role came in Robot Monster, a 3-D film from 1953 directed by Phil Tucker. The movie is remembered as one of the worst ever made, yet it made money and brought Nader more prominent parts.

Nader began acting in 1950. Across four years at the Pasadena Playhouse he took part in several productions, and that work brought him a number of bit parts in films.

Nader starred as FBI agent Jerry Cotton in the German movie Tread Softly (1965), which became a hit and spawned a run of films.

George Nader took on both producing and directing duties for Walk by the Sea, a film that came out in 1963.

In The Female Animal, released in 1958, George Nader took over the role of Hedy Lamarr's love interest from John Gavin.
