Plot summary
A boyhood shooting sets Jerry Florea on the path to a planned robbery. While taking part in a hold-up he is shot, and a policeman and his wife look after him. As a young man he tells them he has given up crime and takes a job at the Brinks company. They do not know that he and his gang are preparing to rob it. The tale draws on the Boston Brink's robbery of 1950, which brought in about two and a half million dollars.

- Six Bridges to Cross was drawn from the 1950 Great Brink's Robbery in Boston, Massachusetts, in which thieves made off with roughly $2.5 million.
