Eugenio Derbez
Biography
Born and raised in Mexico City, Eugenio Derbez is a Mexican actor, comedian, producer, and director who began as a soap-opera extra at age twelve. He became a regular on Mexican television in the early 1980s and hosted Al Derecho y al Derbez in 1992. His directing debut came with the telenovela No Tengo Madre in 1997, and he later created the sketch show Derbez en Cuando; his sitcom La familia P. Luche gave him one of his most iconic roles. In film, he starred in and directed Instructions Not Included (2013), which broke box office records, and appeared in Jack and Jill (2011), Girl in Progress (2012), Miracles from Heaven (2016), How to Be a Latin Lover (2017), The Book of Life (2014), The Angry Birds Movie 2 (2019), The Valet (2022), and CODA (2021), for which he and the cast won a Screen Actors Guild Award. He also produced several television series and helped create 3Pas Studios.
