Biography

Eddie Jones was an American actor who worked across stage, film, and television, amassing more than 250 theatrical productions, 35 movies, and 40 TV shows. Born in Washington, Pennsylvania, he was noticed by an agent after moving to California and taking a gas station job. On Broadway he appeared in the original 1972 production of That Championship Season, and his stage work earned a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Death of a Salesman. He made his screen debut in 1958 on Young Doctor Malone and later had recurring roles on The Equalizer, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and The Invisible Man. Among his films were Year of the Dragon (1985), The Grifters (1990), The Rocketeer (1991), Sneakers (1992), A League of Their Own, Return to Me (2000), Seabiscuit (2003), and The Terminal (2004).
