Donald Randolph
Biography
Donald Randolph, an actor in film, television, and radio, began his career on the Broadway stage with Fatal Alibi in 1932. He later appeared in Broadway productions including Lady in the Dark, Hamlet, King Richard II, and Strange Gods. Moving into movies, he appeared in The Desert Hawk in 1950 and played General Mark Ford in the science fiction picture The Deadly Mantis (1957). He also took a supporting part in Alfred Hitchcock's Topaz (1969). His resonant voice suited many radio dramas of the 1940s and 1950s. For television he appeared twice on Perry Mason, playing Stephen Argyle in 1958 and Curtis Runyan in 1959, and he was seen on Have Gun Will Travel and The Big Valley. Some of his papers went to the UCLA Library Special Collections.
