Plot summary
Matt Telford, the local boss, wants the deeds of the one ranch he does not own, and he hires the wandering hired gun Reb Kittredge to get them. The ranch belongs to Dan Saxon, a former outlaw who has settled down. Saxon's ramrod, Curly Mather, ambushes Reb before he takes the job and kills his horse. In town, Saxon challenges Reb to a gunfight, and Reb shoots him in the gun hand. Saxon then loses the ranch to Reb over cards.
