Biography

Christopher Mitchum is an American actor, screenwriter, and businessman. He has acted in more than sixty films across fourteen countries. He was born in Los Angeles, California. On screen he appeared alongside John Wayne in Chisum (1970) and Rio Lobo (1970), plus Big Jake (1971). Box Office magazine cited him as one of five future stars, and Photoplay honored him with its Gold Medal Award for 1972. In 1981 he received the Golden Horse Award, and in Indonesia in 1988 he won the Golden Reel for best actor. In 1978 he became an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences member. He sat on the Screen Actors Guild board of directors from 1983 to 1989 and was the union's national first vice president from 1987 to 1989.
