Biography

Edward Faulkner was an American character actor who worked in film and television. Born in Lexington in 1932, he formed a comedy song and dance act with a friend while in high school, then acted in student plays at the University of Virginia and at the University of Kentucky, where he earned his degree in 1954. He spent two years as a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force and left the service as a first lieutenant. He was best known for appearances in John Wayne films, notably The Green Berets (1968), Hellfighters (1968), The Undefeated (1969), Rio Lobo (1970) and McLintock!. His other screen credits included The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come (1961), and he had small roles in Dragnet and The Tim Conway Show. On television he also appeared in episodes of Gunsmoke and Bonanza. He died in 2025.
