Plot summary
Ben Kane, once a lawman in Dodge City, rides the trail and finds Billy Young, a sharpshooter whose partner Jesse Boone left him without a horse after the two of them shot a Mexican general. Kane lets the young man travel with him to a New Mexico town, where a deputy sheriff's job awaits. Kane has another reason for taking it: he wants to find whoever killed his son. In town, the dance-hall girl Lily Beloit warns him that John Behan and Frank Boone, the two men who run the place, plan to shoot him at the first chance.
