Biography

Charles Rocket was an American actor who began his screen career making short films and fronting the Fabulous Motels before working as a news anchor in Providence, Pueblo, and Nashville. He joined Saturday Night Live in 1980, where he anchored Weekend Update, created recurring character Phil Lively, and appeared in more sketches than any other male player that season. He also appeared in Dances with Wolves (1990) and Earth Girls Are Easy (1988). On television, Rocket played Ned Grossberg on Max Headroom, Richard Addison on Moonlighting, and Adam on Touched by an Angel, with guest roles on series such as Wings and The King of Queens. He provided the voice of Leo Lionheart Jr. in the MGM Sing-Alongs and played accordion on recordings by the B-52s and others.
