Biography
Cara Buono is an American actress who began acting as a child in Harvey Fierstein's play Spookhouse and went on to build a career across stage, film and television. Raised in the Bronx, she studied at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School and Columbia University before her early screen work, including Waterland (1992) with Ethan Hawke and Jeremy Irons. Her film credits include Hulk (2003), Let Me In (2010), A Good Marriage (2014), Paper Towns (2015), All Saints (2017), Monsters and Men (2018) and She Came from the Woods (2022), along with indie features such as Chutney Popcorn, Happy Accidents, Next Stop Wonderland and Two Ninas, which she co-produced. On television she played paramedic Grace Foster in the final season of Third Watch, Kelli in The Sopranos, and Dr. Faye Miller in Mad Men, a role that brought her a Primetime Emmy nomination. She also appears as Karen Wheeler in Stranger Things.
