Betty Buckley

Betty Buckley is an American singer and actress who was born in Big Spring, Texas and chose musical theater as a girl after seeing The Pajama Game. She made her Broadway debut in 1776 in 1969 and later won a Tony Award for Grizabella in the original Broadway run of Cats, where she sang Memory. Her stage work also includes Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard in London and New York, an Olivier Award nomination for that role, a Tony nomination for Triumph of Love. On television she starred in Eight Is Enough from 1977 to 1981 and later appeared in Oz and Preacher, and from 2018 to 2019 she starred in the national tour of Hello, Dolly! Her films include Carrie (1976), Tender Mercies (1983), Frantic (1988), Another Woman (1988), The Happening (2008), and Split (2017), for which she earned a Saturn Award nomination. She has also recorded albums and received Grammy nominations.
