Plot summary
Larry and Joan have been married for 65 years and argue often. They go to a family party, where Joan's terminal cancer stays their secret. Larry chokes on a pretzel and dies. He wakes on a train, young again, and finds himself in the Junction, a hotel-like place in the afterlife. Anna, his Afterlife Coordinator, tells him each soul has seven days to pick where to spend eternity, that the decision is final, and that the Void awaits anyone who tries to leave a chosen eternity.
