Andrea King
Biography
Andrea King was an American actress who worked in theater, film and television, beginning as a child performer in Broadway plays that included Growing Pains and Fly Away Home. Born in Paris and raised in New York, she made her film debut in the docudrama The Ramparts We Watch, then signed with Warner Bros. in 1944 and took the screen name King. She appeared in mystery, horror and noir films such as The Beast with Five Fingers (1947) and The Man I Love (1946), both opposite Robert Alda, and Ride the Pink Horse (1947). In the 1950s she had leading roles in the noir Dial 1119 (1950) and the science fiction story Red Planet Mars (1952), and supporting parts in The World in His Arms (1952) and Band of Angels (1957). Much of her later work was on television, including Perry Mason and Maverick, and in 1960 she received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
