Christopher Biggins
Biography
Christopher Biggins is an English actor and television personality who began with a lead stage role as a teenager and trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. In the 1970s he became known for television work, playing Lukewarm in Porridge, Nero in I, Claudius and the Reverend Osborne Whitworth in Poldark, and he also had a regular part in Rentaghost. His films include The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), The Tempest (1979) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1999), and he was later cast in Run for Your Wife (2012). On stage he has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company, played Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar and appeared at the London Palladium for 18 months in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He has performed often in pantomime, and in 2017 the Great British Pantomime Awards gave him a lifetime achievement honor. He won the 2007 series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

Big break
Biggins won the role of Emperor Nero in the BBC's I, Claudius partly because he had already played Nero in a Heineken television commercial about the games.

Biggins also trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where Jeremy Irons was a student at the same time.

Biggins's first lead stage role came at 17 in a Stage '65 production of Moliere's Le Medecin malgre lui, which led to work with a local repertory company.
