Plot summary
Charlie Prince lives and works at The Palace, the New York karaoke bar his stepfather Arthur runs, where Charlie does most of the cleaning while his stepbrothers Andrew and Lloyd chase singing careers of their own. Charlie sings and writes music but can't catch a break. Kadee Worth, daughter of Majesty Records president Reginald Worth, is an international pop star who performs songs and wears clothes chosen for her, and she is frustrated by it. Sent to deliver his stepbrothers' track for a talent contest, Charlie bumps into Kadee when her dog Trumpet runs at him, and he leaves the label with a job as a janitor.
