Plot summary
In 1985, Captain Neal Patterson and his crewmates fly Professor Konrad to the space station. A beam of energy destroys the station and damages their rocketship, which crashes on a planet Konrad identifies as Venus. The men find the air breathable, then enter a jungle, where women armed with ray guns surround them and march them to a city. There the masked Queen Yllana rules, and Patterson tells her that they came from Earth in peace. The Queen does not believe them and withdraws with her council to decide their fate.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Queen of Outer Space (1958)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Producer Walter Wanger had been released from prison for shooting agent Jennings Lang in the groin over an affair with Wanger's wife, Joan Bennett, leaving him able to find work only at low-rent Allied Artists, where in 1952 he brought Ben Hecht's ten-page idea, Queen of the Universe.
- Zsa Zsa Gabor wrote in her 1991 autobiography One Lifetime is Not Enough that she adored her costumes, designed by Edith Head, which cost a staggering $15,000 apiece.
- In 1958 the National Legion of Decency placed Queen of Outer Space in Class B, meaning morally objectionable in part for all, objecting to what the trade paper Motion Picture Daily reported as its "suggestive costuming."
- The production got its look by recycling earlier 1950s films: the C-57D crewmen's uniforms, rayguns and Altaira's wardrobe from Forbidden Planet, models and effects from Bernds' World Without End, Atlas missile stock footage, and a rocketship model built for Flight to Mars.
- Screenwriter Charles Beaumont found little in Ben Hecht's screenplay, so producer Ben Schwalb had former Three Stooges writer Ellwood Ullman punch it up as a spoof, and Allied Artists renamed it Queen of Outer Space because Queen of the Universe sounded like a beauty pageant.
